I agree with this to an extent. I do think that sometimes it’s important. You are correct in saying that triggers can happen anywhere and at anytime. I like your example of a clink of a drink, it can be that subtle. However as someone who struggles with PTSD and has at times felt suicidal from it, I believe that trigger warnings can be important. However the most powerful mediums are film and tv and those are the ones that really need the trigger warnings. I don’t know, it’s a fine line. As a writer and a sufferer of PTSD, I can see both perspectives. Personally I would hate to upset someone with something I create, so I prefer them for some situations. However you are right you cannot protect people 100%. Sometimes I do appreciate the trigger warnings though and I won’t read an article if I know I’m not in the best place
