This is a big one. For the first year of sobriety, alcoholics have a birthday every month. It is the anniversary of their first day without alcohol and to every alcoholic in recovery, that date is a big deal. For many, it represents the beginning of their new life. Alcoholics want nothing more than to replace the memories you have of the alcoholism with memories of the recovery. Our addiction was a big deal to you. We want recovery to be a bigger deal.
