Thank you do much for your long and detailed reply to this. I totally agree, it's funny how people can get so upset that you don't drink. My family are Scottish (I can see you live in Scotland) and I think that part of it is the cultural aspects of drinking throughout the UK. But I really do notice it in Scotland, Hogmany, Burns Night. Its almost like you cant be a part of these celebrations if you don't drink a wee dram. That's why the humor thing can save you I guess, and yes I totally agree, saying you don't want to know what happened last time I drank whiskey is a good topic. there's nothing drinkers like more than a drunken story!
