Through the use of your statement: the reason poor people stay poor you bring up the connotations associated with the term poor people. You can’t use a term like poor people without understanding all that at it encompasses.
and whilst I agree that you didn’t say that only poor people behave this way, you also do not say that this behavior can be exhibited by all individuals across the financial spectrum.
This is not a criticism of you as a person, just a criticism of the premise of the article, I recognize the ideas within it but disagree with the association of these behaviors with ‘poor people’. Perhaps I also dislike the term poor people as it tends to be a limiting way to describe people, I for one fundamentally dislike being viewed through a financial lens. That said use of the term is a good way to get discussion going and this is what life is all about. So in that sense although I don’t agree with the sweeping generalizations I like that you’ve written it.
